AARST’s 18th International Radon Symposium will provide an opportunity to share ideas and to facilitate a worldwide exchange of information regarding radon in air, water and soils. AARST welcomes the participation of members of the scientific and medical community, radon testers, diagnosticians, mitigators, educators, public policy leaders and business leaders as well as consumers.

Abstracts Your abstract should convey in 150 words or less the essence of the intended paper, clearly indicating the contribution it will make. Abstracts will be screened by the Symposium Program Committee. 

This year suggested topic areas include but are not limited to:

·       emanation from building materials – measurement and mitigation

·       building market share in radon control in new homes

·       radon risk reduction in low income communities

·       radon in water technical papers

·       radon in water policy issues

where appropriate, authors should have approval of their management prior to submitting an abstract.    Commercial product papers (promoting a commercial device, trademark or technique) may be regulated to poster board presentations at the discretion of the program committee.

How to Submit Abstracts Please submit your abstract via email using WORD or WordPerfect format to: JBurkhart@aarst.org  by May 15, 2008.

Acceptance of Abstracts The Program or Conference Chair will notify speakers of acceptance or rejection of their abstract by June 18, 2008

Final Draft Papers must be received by July 31, 2008 - along with a short professional biography and a photograph of the Speaker. Authors are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for published material. Speakers must register for the Symposium and pay registration fees. Limited stipends are available and must be applied for through the Conference Chair.

Presentation Details Each author should submit a request for time: 20 or 40 minutes.  The Program Chair will determine the amount of time allotted based on the number of presenters and topics being presented. Ideally, each presentation will allow time for a brief question and answer period at the end of the presentation.
