Dear Advertiser,
Thank you for considering advertising in AARST's publications. The conditions listed below must be met in order to place an advertisement in any AARST publication. If, in the opinion of the AARST Executive Secretary or the editor, an advertisement does not meet any one of the following conditions, that advertisement will be sent back for the needed changes.
Limitations of the graphic program chosen by AARST to create the publication may require that the size, layout, or other physical property of your advertisement be adjusted prior to printing. If adjustments are necessary you will be given the opportunity to review your advertisement, as it will appear in the newsletter.
1. All advertisements (with the exception of business cards) must be bordered with lines or screens. The border must enclose the advertisement on all sides. The border is considered the outside measurements of the advertisement.
2. All advertisements that have the appearance of news articles must have the words "PAID ADVERTISEMENT" printed in the center at the top of the article within, or part of the border of the ad, and must be typed in capital letters, in font size no smaller than 8 pt.
3. If an advertisement utilizes the name and/or phone number/fax number/address and/or quote, opinion or endorsement of any person, the advertiser must provide AARST with written permission from the individual mentioned in the advertisement. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to secure the written permission from that individual and to ensure that AARST's office has this permission at the time the advertisement is submitted. Utilization of a standard waiver form is sufficient.
4. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to ensure that libelous material is not included in their advertisement. Questionable statements may be referred to our attorney prior to publication.
5. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to ensure that all information provided in the advertisement is technically accurate and reflects AARST's position statements, code of ethics, and quality standards. Questionable statements will be referred to AARST's Technical Chairperson or other appropriate committee chairs for review prior to publication.
6. The advertisement must be camera ready printed on laser quality paper or emailed as an attachment in a form that can be used by the editor. As deemed by the editor, files sent in Rich Text Format (rtf), or MS Word (doc) files might be used without conversion. It may also be possible to send picture formats such as tiff, jpeg or gif files.
7. If you wish to submit an article of general interest to the newsletter your name and company affiliation will be noted in the byline. References may not be made to point out the advantages of using your company's services or supplies over those of another company. You do not need to submit a corresponding paid advertisement to submit an article. Should you choose to also submit a paid advertisement, all reasonable attempts will be made to include the article on the same page of your advertisement.
